Fireworks opening youth Olympic Games

3 years after the idea was originally put forward and 2 years after the host nation was chosen Singapore finally sees the start of the Youth Olympic Games with a grand opening ceremony that included a spectacular fireworks display.
3,600 contestants aged between 14 and 18 will battle it out for gold in 26 different sports with representatives from 204 different countries. This is the Olympics after all.

Published July 11, 2010 | On June 16, 2010, Harry Potter film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Michael Gambon, Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, James and Oliver Phelps, and Warwick Davis were in attendance for a special celebrity event commemorating the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure theme park.

The event took place on 3 July 2010 at the European Parliament in Brussels. As I didn’t go to the party, I could enjoy the fireworks in peace from a bit different angle.
