There are numerous fireworks displays that happen in the United States annually. Since we won’t be able to enumerate all the fireworks events that take place in the country, we might as well mention some that are included in its long list of fireworks events.

KENTUCKY DERBY FESTIVAL

Held annually in May in Louisville, Kentucky, the Kentucky Derby Festival features the Thunder Over Louisville event that displays fireworks that are considered as the largest among all the fireworks displays held in the country. As a matter of fact, it is known as one of the largest fireworks events in the entire North America.

MACY’S FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS

This Macy’s event is also included in the long list of fireworks events that are popular in the United States. Held in New York City on the day the country commemorates its Independence Day, this fireworks display is considered as one of the largest presentations of fireworks done not only in the city but in the entire nation. According to Macy’s, they spend for more than 120,000 fireworks every year just to join in the commemoration of Independence Day and to give joy to the people.

SAILFEST

Sailfest is held in New London, Connecticut every year and is of course included in the long list of fireworks events popular in the United States. In 2010, the Sailfest will be held from July 9 to 11. It is known as one of the city’s premiere events during the summer season. The three-day event is filled with live music, food vendors, exhibits, and many more. Of course, people who attend this event every year always look forward to the fireworks displays, which is one of the main highlights of Sailfest.

WELCOME AMERICA

Since the Independence Day of the United States is celebrated in all of its states, it is expected that fireworks displays are present in all parts of the country. Welcome, America is the event held in Philadelphia and is definitely included in the long list of fireworks events held in the nation. Welcome, America is usually a week-long celebration and its fireworks displays are usually held at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

The rest of the fireworks events that people in the United States look forward every year include Pops Concert at the Esplanade in Boston, Massachusetts, the Independence Day Celebration in Washington, DC, Harborfest held annually in Oswego, New York, River Days held in Detroit, Michigan, the WaMu Family 4th in Seattle, Washington.

Those who are from other places and who go all the way to the locations of fireworks displays know that their travel is worthwhile.
