Night Sky Lanterns Now Completely Wire-Free

August 25th, 2010 admin No comments

UK based Night Sky Lanterns announced their conversion of all their Sky Lantern products to a brand new range of eco friendly, wire free Sky Lanterns. Sky Lanterns, also known as Chinese lanterns, paper lanterns and flying lanterns, have raised concerns across the country from livestock owners concerned their animals could consume a discarded Sky Lantern and be harmed by the wire found inside. Night Sky Lanterns have solved this controversial issue by becoming 100% wire free in their Sky Lantern products. They are the first company of their kind to do so and hope to set a precedent to ensure the safety of animals and to continue their dedication to their environmentally friendly business practices.

“There is growing concern across the country that an animal may eat an extinguished Sky Lantern, containing wire, that has fallen to the ground when extinguished,” says Lewis Sellers, partner of Night Sky Lanterns. “We strive to be ‘green’ and to be an environmentally friendly company. All our Sky Lanterns are biodegradable, but as of today we have addressed the concerns of farmers across the country by converting the whole of our range of Sky Lanterns to wire-free versions. We acknowledged a concern from the farming community and worked closely with our manufacturer to address the issues. As a result, our Sky Lanterns not only biodegrade faster, but there is no concern about causing harm to livestock. We are confident this change will contribute to the safety of animals and maintain our eco-friendly commitment.”

Sky lanterns are used around the world as a fun addition to a party or a means to mark or celebrate a special occasion. There is growing popularity for Sky Lanterns at Weddings as guests can also be involved in launching a Sky Lanterns to celebrate the special occasion. Coloured Sky Lanterns are also now very popular for more informal occasions such as birthday parties and festivals. As sky lanterns are released into the evening sky they provide a spectacular display.

They are a safe alternative to fireworks and are steeped in tradition that goes back centuries. Now, however, these lanterns are even safer for the environment.

Wire free sky lanterns now pose no risk to livestock. They will degrade quickly once exposed to the elements leaving no trace they ever existed. The concern of livestock eating the metal parts and getting harmed in the process is no longer an issue with the environmentally friendly Sky Lanterns. In a first of its kind, Night Sky Lanterns, partnered with their manufacturers, have exclusively produced a wire-free range of Sky Lanterns in response to the concerns posed by the farming community across the country.

Night Sky Lanterns carries only high quality safe products which are not to be confused with cheap imitations. Their dedication to quality and customer service has made them a leader in the Sky Lantern industry. They have set the highest standard in ensuring they provide the safest, environmentally friendly Sky Lanterns available on the market today, and with their conversion to 100% wire free Lanterns, their commitment to this is evident.

ABOUT NIGHT SKY LANTERNS – Night Sky Lanterns was founded in 2008 by Lewis Sellers to provide Sky Lanterns and related products to the UK and worldwide markets. They are dedicated to ensuring that their products are safe, with an environmentally friendly business model. Night Sky Lanterns currently uses exclusively wire free Sky Lanterns in all their designs and is the first Sky Lantern company to do so. They can be found on the Internet at
